"Listen, listen, listen to my heart's song!
Listen, listen, listen to my heart's song!
I will never forget you!"

Ildri said: "when you are working with a racehorse, you need to become a mountain." I both experienced and observed her mountainous versatility, her artful courage and her light-hearted depth change many lives for the much, much better. I do not like to think who I would be now, if I had not been able to work with Ildri in a variety of roles.
I launch this site in hopes that the memories and testimonies of others will help my sad but grateful heart’s song to find more lyrics. Meanwhile, I share these photos from a 1980s workshop on Martha's Vineyard as a gesture of solidarity with all who mourn her passing.

Dear Friends and Family of Ildri,
I miss that smile and the deep thoughts that came from Ildri's heart, straight to my own. She was truly a warm, compassionate and loving woman.

The psychodrama community will miss Ildri's wise, compassionate and sensitive directing. I only knew her through her workshops at conferences, and valued every interaction we had. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and to her psychodrama students.

I hardly knew Ildri, but heard good things about what she and her late husband Bob created as a psychodrama training institute in the Boston area in the mid-1970s. (I listed their institute in the 2nd printing of my earliest edition of Acting-In (1973, 1978?), and also as one of the early 2nd generation of pioneers in my 3rd and 4th edition of Foundations of Psychodrama (pg 30). I knew also that Ildri had been a pioneer of integrating Bioenergetic Analysis and Psychodrama.

I knew Ildri first as a therapist, then as a friend whom I saw regularly especially in the later years. She was her own unique form of Nordic warrior -- strong, courageous, large hearted, and compassionate with a bit of mischievousness in the mix. With her endless thirst for understanding the human psyche, she touched the lives of countless people, including me. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and all who worked with her. We'll all miss you, Ildri.

A thoughtful referral to Ildri brought profound changes to my life. A new view of therapist expanded to colleague, friend, spiritual guide, and fellow-seeker. Her strength, wonderful sense of humor, compassion and energy were each remarkable. And her courage was an inspiration as she pushed herself and those she worked with ever further, beyond expected limits. My condolences to her family and friends; my deep gratitude.

I am forever grateful for how you contributed to my rebirthing process nearly 35 years ago in Norway.
